Falguni Patel and Mina Joshi, co-founders of Smile Hotel Management, represent a powerful bridge between the foundational grit of three generations of their immigrant ancestors and the sophisticated landscape of modern hospitality.
The story of their success is rooted in the heritage built by Gujarati families who brought their business expertise to America, operating motels through a lens of "commercial perfectionism". They followed a strict mantra: “four times cash flow”. Success was anchored in a moral framework of extreme thrift, where any nonessential expenditure was considered wasteful.
Having risen through the ranks from a front-desk clerk to District Manager in a high-end luxury chain, Falguni, along with Mina, now marries that historical business acumen with modern expertise.
